The food is great here and it's in a very convenient location - I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for something upsetting I witnessed last night: I came in about 7:30pm, a 1/2 hr before closing to get some hot food for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to find there were still so many options left. I quickly grabbed one of the stuffed cornish hens - yum. As I was just about finishing filing my container, I watched as an employee proceeded to slowly one by one, take all the food left in the hot bar and throw it straight in the trash bin in front of me. I was totally shocked because there were a ton of trays (mac n cheese, chicken cutlets, vegetables etc) that were still almost completely full being thrown out. Then I watched as three whole cornish hens completely untouched were thrown in the trash too - effectively meaning that these three hens lived and died for consumption for literally no reason. Not to mention the ecological impact of raising these hens (as well as the rest of the meat being tossed) was all for nothing. So wasteful and shameful. I almost walked out, I was sick to my stomach. I checked out - $44, for food that was being thrown in the trash anyway. Overall the whole experience made me very sad and disappointed in this supermarket. My message to the owner: This is a family supermarket right- why not think of your family/community in the Hudson Valley? There are many organizations in the Valley that would be able to take your food off your hands at the end of the night and give it to our neighbors in need. You could also probably get some kind of tax credit for the daily donations so this would actually prove to be more cost effective than simply throwing it all out. Another idea would be to make your hot food 1/2 price after a certain time each evening so you can increase the likelihood that there will be much less left when the store is about to close.

I’ve been here a few times, so far I’m very impressed. Produce quality is very high, bakery items are fresh and tasty, meats and seafood are fresh and high quality, lots of food options, and (my favorite part) the store brand items are AMAZING. We had the store made pasta and bought some of the higher end cheese and had an outstanding Italian dinner for a couple nights. I’ve found this store very reminiscent of Wegmans or Whole Foods while still being a neighborhood style market.

Great produce, it is always good at a MINIMUM, usually exceptional). Standard grocery stores 35% of the time produce (much higher percentage for things like mango) the fruit especially is not worth eating at the other places. To be clear, anything fresh or not something like toothpaste is a relative "bargain" due to low rate of unusable product. Soap and deodorant best for CVS or Stop and Shop. FOOD, DeCicco is the way to go!

I love this store. Alot say it's more expensive but you get what you pay for. The meat is better quality and the fresh, hot food is delicious. Their produce is alway fresh and delicious. Always good to run here last minute for a couple things. Never long lines at the registers. Staff friendly and helpful!
